As June comes to an end, we could not let this month pass us by without celebrating Pride! We celebrate and support the people within the LGBTQIA+ community living their most authentic life, and believe that it is a fundamental right that every person be treated equally!

Pride Month is a huge joyful celebration filled with people living their truth, going to parades and having a great time. However, we cannot forget that Pride was born out of an act of resistance and demand for change.

Leaders like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera and Miss Major Griffin-Gracywere leaders in the revolution before and after the riot at Stonewall. Pride is made up of protests requiring that the LGBTQIA+ community receive equal rights. Knowing queer history is necessary to understanding the importance of Pride!
